Jazz Standards part 1

Posted by sorohanro - January 23rd, 2014

My good friend Arpad, who is a very cool saxophone player insisted to make a video with us playing over some jazz standards. He plans to make those every week, so, here, me on flugelhorn and he on tenor and soprano saxophone:

Was a bit dark in his studio and he filmed with his iPad, so the quality isn't really the best, but the sound was recorded in Cubase with a Neumann mic through a Neve preamp, so...

Wow... you guys are beasts! beautiful impros. There is nothing more to say. I'll definitely watch your videos every week :)

Thanks, you're very kind :)
I will hopefully make also some tutorials, so... :)

This was OBVIOUSLY photoshopped...

Well, what to do else, I'm not very confident with my appearance :p

Really really good...i'm inspired to learn that song now

Look forward to your next ones!

Thanks :)

Damn great sound! Could listen to this all day

I hope next videos will keep you interested :)

Great performance, harmonic progression and feel. What else to say. Great! The piano accompanyment is so subtile and intelligent that i as a pianoplayer just have to love it. No dispensable notes in here, just essential and pure jazz. I really love the sax parts ... very talented. Overall the piece reminds me a lot of pieces of miles davis - there is a very cool my funny valentine version of him exactly in this style (not the known version of miles, unfortunately i didnt find it on the internet so i cant show it).

Awesome - just awesome guys!

Thanks for your very kind words.
