simple but ...

simple but genial in it's simplicity
i can listen to it going on loop for hours ... the harmonic changes are awesome, also this sounds like a real piano recorded, you can hear when sustain pedal moves and touch the strings ... added to fav's ...
the only bad thing about is the very low score on it :(

WOW !!!!

as a trumpet player in a symphony orchestra, i heared and played a lot of stuff, so, from this point of view i can say:
this is one of the most well written tune for brass !!!
also, the mixing is well done, quite realistic.
i love the dynamics and the tempo changes

congratulations

WinTang responds:

Thanks dude, it always means a lot coming from you.

jazzy

caravan is quite a tricky standard with all those changes from swing to latin, great arrangement and quite good performance
i would like a better recording of that but ...
well, nice thing to hear a school band playing quite complicated things

school band

for a school band that is quite good
i always like live performances, those are more "lively" than computer made music
congratulations to players and to the music teacher there

(as much as i respect Winterwind and i like his music i must not agree, a school band is not a professional simphony orchestra)

melodic

nice and melodic, probably the most melodic solo from the "challenge", actually building up a theme and going with the (weird) harmony i made and getting somewhere
added to fav's already

different

a totally different aproach on it, loved it, the electronic sound changed the mood completely, also the line of the ... the ... weird sound (is it synth wah or a weird filter ?) gave a funky/jazzy feel somehow

TomBanks responds:

I'm not exactly sure which part you're talking about. On the cleanish part I used a Crybaby wah pedal, and the part after that is me wanging the mess out of the tremolo bar on my guitar. I used a really cool fuzz box called the Z Vex Fuzz Factory, along with reverb and phaser effects in FL Studio, and the vocoder in FL Studio. Thanks for reviewing my submission man!

nice

nice guitar, from the latin feel chords to the bluesy solo
i don't know if this count as jazz (maybe too rock in some parts) but is a good tune
congratulations

very good

listened many times, every time i discover something new ...
5-d it several times, now, when i see that after so much time have just one review took the time to write one myself also ...
i'm a fan of jazz and i can say, this is the best "Oleo" version here on NG (and i have one myself here) and probably is the only band fitting to jazz section ...
great performance, good sound also, a lot of energy, played very lively, showing knowledge of theory, styles and a lot of talent
great job here
congratulations

nice

congrats for front page
everything sounds good, somehow you come lately with very catchy themes
10/10 5/5 and added to fav's

spamwangler responds:

thanks dude:) im still waiting for that guitar sax solo- you know its a good idea!

the band im in is on hiatus(main member on sailing holiday) so ive got more time on my ands to record at home:)

wicked

that was unexpected :))
Sialys had a great ideea to put you to work this way
great "finger action" man, you can shred that bass ...

CyriltheWolf responds:
