MaestroRage and DarKsidE555 is a WIN
Yep, one of the Best combinations ever existed on NG.
So, this include the best features of both, impressive big orchestral from Maestro and wicked guitar work from DS, a must have in your playlist.

Ah come on, stop it with the praise already. I'm a real bitch at playing guitar. :/ Not as good as I wanted to be. Glad that you like it though.
Thanks for checking ma man! :)
awful
awful but funny (in a way)
clipping in some places (that should be fixed) try to lower the volume or put a compressor on it
It kind of clips because the left and right channels didn't record from the gameboy to the computer... Because of the fact that it was indeed made with a gameboy I cannot put a compressor on it or it would defeat the purpose of using a gameboy.
noisy
the idea is not bad, but to me seems kind of messy (no structure, no theme)
mixing is AWFUL!!!
first, noise on the guitar (guess no grounding),
second, drums sound like you recorded from a far cd player (instead on making the mix in the computer)
third, no panning AT ALL, sounds like a mono mixing to me
didn't vote because I don't want to give a bad vote (I hate 0-voters myself, so ...)
hope you'll improve
Weill, it's an improvisation dude, give me a break haha.
Im not a jazz guitarrist, I play metal most of the time, but thanks alot for your feedback.
dark
very dark feeling, the filtered percussion (or what is there) have a creeping effect, the bells give a solemn feel.
btw, Shadowman 1 is one of my favorite games ;) ... Michael LeRoi, fighting evil with dark forces ... in the original comics he was a jazz musician turned into Shadowman by a voodoo priestess ...
your track would do a very good job in the game (or a movie ... I can imagine Deadside on this)
Thank you for the awesome review ! I actually had the game in mind when i made this song. Loved it !
nice
not perfectly played, not perfectly recorded but very good concept and LIVE RECORDED a real piano !!! well, if only for that and deserve 5 bombing from time to time.
the modal theme, the "ad libitum" feel make it "dreamy"
5/5 10/10
Yea, imperfection FTW!^^
Well I can't fix that unless I'd go for professional playing.
I must say that my concepts are often only vague and change sometimes even during the recording sessions.
Thanks for the review and the bombing 5!
Dud
already
There are some very good tracks for this MAC, I already 5-ed some of those, fav-ed 3, this one included.
Chilled feel, complex lines and rhythms on a pedal like harmony.
Well mixed ... what else to say than "Congratulations" ...
Thanks sir! I understand you'll be making something for the comp as well. I can't wait to hear what you have cooking.
AWWWwwww...
Almost hurts to hear something THAT good.
Very interesting reharmonization, cool slightly distorted Rhodes, amazing phrasing, everything put together in a very original way.
You let me speechless but somehow I found words for a short review.
5/5 10/10 added to fav's
You're too kind, as always.
Thanks for your very gracious review and wonderful comments. Coming from you, a true artist, this is certainly an honor!
Best to you.
not bad
not bad, not too good either
the bass groove and drums goes more on Blues/Shuffle than jazz
impro ... kind of not much, the sounds used are bad also for Jazz
as a "game-ish" loop is quite good, as a Jazz song needs improvements, so here
Things To Improve:
1-make it less repetitive (at least make different bass or drum fills every 4 or 8 bars)
2-if you don't have a right sound for guitar, use a different instrument, something that sounds more natural (or ask for a collab, there are many talented musicians on NG, heck, I would record a real guitar or a trumpet)
3-try to learn more theory and harmony, especially jazz ones (with all those 7-th and 9-th, chord substitutions) and use for same bass line different chords on every repeat
Well, I do realize that this would require A LOT more work if I were to make it a really good Jazz song, but at the moment I made this one, I wasn't exactly aiming for something more developed. I was going for a simple tune, and at the time, it felt like Jazz to me, that's primarily why I put it in that genre. I'm more than aware of the quality of the sounds I used, but back then I really didn't have any better ones. As for my knowledge of musical theory, I have nothing more than an elementary music schooling, so 99% of the stuff I write is made (in the absence of a better word) "by ear". And as for the collabing you mentioned, I currently have a more developed Jazz song in the works, so someday I might just ask you for a small solo, if you'd find the time for it. Thanks a lot for the review!
not bad
well, not really fitting to Jazz section, more like to Classical to me, also it's kind of short, you can call it a loop (better chances to get in a Flash).
not bad, the rhythm of instruments playing is nice and have diversity, still, in some places harmony gets a little bit random
This is my first song, for some reason newgrounds put it into the jazz catagory. but whatever. anyway this song was origionally made to be the intro to a podcast that some friends and myself are working on. Thanks for the review. glad you liked it.
cool
I like the guitar tone, clean and sharp ("glassy" I can say also), the dist. guitar sound reminds me of Santana.
On the solo could had some more Santana style tricks/licks but is nice also how it is now.
Yeah, I'm thinking of playing more with it, soon. I've dropped the block out of my guitar at the moment, to be able to use my "whammy" for metaljonus's backing track...so I'll get at it again.
Thank you, sorohanro.\m/
