Nice track, a bit sad in some places but nice. Well done.
I would put softer drums, maybe brushes, but that's just my personal taste :)

Thanks! I love your jazz tracks and really appreciate the review. :)
This was a project for my MIDI Music Composition class. I was given a basic chord progression (mostly of I, IV, V) and was supposed to sequence a simple drum beat, bass guitar, and block chords on a keyboard instrument. That was way too easy though, so the instructor said I could alter the chords however I like.
I used EZDrummer and didn't have the jazz expansion with brush samples. Otherwise, I'd try my hand at some more traditional jazz. Christmas is coming up though... :)
Thanks again!
Cool track, really nice composed.
Not really my cup of tea but good track. Catchy melody, cool harmonies, good mixing, all ingredients for a good track :)
Somehow, the electronics + minor feel makes me think of old band "Zodiac" (and that's a compliment).
Thanks man!
Cool to see such an emotional and well written piece. It may seem a bit silent (for the NG overcompressed standard) but keeping in mind the "classical" approach, this might be considered a plus.
Also, nice to have a story/concept from start to end.
Thanks! I now have some decent mastering plug-ins and a bit more experience, so I can look back and see that this was a bit quiet even for classical. I don't think I did any mastering on this whatsoever come to think of it.
Thanks for the review!
Amazing composition, imaginative, emotional, complex but singing need some correction (especially when creating a choir where any small imperfection tends to stand out) and in some places sounds overcompressed.
Well, your mixing skills improved lately but to deliver such a good song you have to match them to your composing skills ;)
The reply to this review comes in October 2013.
Well, Sorohanro... I think you can safely call me the one who made Terre des Hommes Libres, a piece of equal magnitude to this, just MONTHS after Mio/Homura was released. I warn you not to underestimate me any longer.
Good mixing, good choice of sounds but it's a bit too repetitive for my tastes.
You can transpose the melody somewhere in the middle and then get back to the original, or change the solo instrument, or make a filter sweep.
Here, 3 ideas already :)
Thanks a load man. If i can get my file for this song to work with sequel 3 I can make some changes to it. I got a lot more songs to upload too :p
Oh man... where even to start...
This is the time when a remake is way better than the original.
The very military like beginning, with dignity, then you have the playful piccolo soloing on top, like in marching bands. Very nice contrast.
Later on, it changes to a more "serious" music, bringing some polytonal feel and a orchestration reminding (to me) of Ravel.
Last part goes with ostinato on strings and theme on brass, like in modern Hollywood film music.
Diversity, good orchestration, good mixing, all perfect :)
Thanks for reorchestration, sounds fantastic.
Thank you for the inspiration. :) Please continue writing.
Nice harmony, good choice of instruments, good mixing.
I would like to hear first melody with a music box, but that is just my personal preference.
Thank you for the review! And yeah, I would like to hear that melody with a music box as well. Honestly, if I had a music box synth I might have used it for that but at the same time I like the synth I used. It would've sounded good either way but the music box may have at least sounded pleasantly different haha.
Listening this on loop for quite a while. From the start of that low kick to the scrambled/ mashed vocals, filters... everything is just... perfect... yet I crave to make a jazzyfied version of it.
>:D Thank yew. Like I said before on the Soundcloud version, if you need anything like MIDI files and the sort for reference, feel free to contact me, I'll send them along your way!
